"Baby Bump" Using "Park Bench" by Fancy Pants

Hi everyone, it's Heather here and I'm so glad to be back designing on the blog. I've had a lot of changes in my life since I last posted here- the biggest one being that I am now expecting my first child- a boy!- in January. I am over the moon, and especially happy that I can now make layouts of my own child rather than "borrowing" nieces and nephews :) I got some really fun Fancy Pants Designs product to play with, so pulling this layout together was easy. I especially loved the "flair" that goes with this line- really fun! I wanted to take some photos to document my growing baby bump, so here is the first one:

The baby feet were cut from the New Arrival Cartridge with my Cricut machine from the coordinating cardstock that matched this line. I added a little ink to make it stand out. Love that "Happy" flair button!

This line included a sheet of cut-apart border strips as well as some cute border stickers. I tried to utilize both!

Another fun flair button, and some journaling on a die-cut ticket shape

I used thickers for my title, I like to mix fonts and colors. I really wanted this one to stand out!
Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you've enjoyed my project!

Fancy Pants "Park Bench" Collection - SO cute!

I created this fun layout with the eclectic Park Bench collection from Fancy Pants, one of the great sponsors of ScrapbookUSA Expo.  I love that this collection blends the beautiful and the funky together so well -- so much personality!  It also feels grown up without being dreary -- there is plenty of energy here.  I used the great papers and a bunch of the fantastic coordinating elements to create this layout about a fantastic weekend getaway my hubby and I took a few months ago to celebrate our 11th anniversary.

I used the photo frames to create a title card and journaling card by backing the open spaces with some of the lighter papers.  A few stitches of twine to secure the title card turned it into a cool pocket for the journaling card.

Layering chunky embellishments adds lots of texture and interest to the layout.

A girl should be…. (Fancy Pants "Trend Setter")

Hello my fabulously creative friends!

Have you seen Fancy Pants' Trend Setter line?

I'm totally in LOVE with it!

I love the patterns... there is a great mix of chevrons, stripes, stars, dots, maps.. and the colors are gorgeous!

I used some ribbon to lace together "Style Sheet" (top paper), leaving a nice gap between the two pieces to show the criss crosses as well as the "Fashion" (pink map paper) that is behind the ribbon.  A nice little embellishment cluster under the bow and a sentiment sticker finish it off... It has a lot of texture and detail, yet it was actually really quick and easy to put together.

I love the coordinating embellies for the line... it makes things SO easy!

The chipboard flower is from the Button set. I pulled off the foam pop dot so I could thread the ribbon through the button hole to secure it to my card. The stars come from the Sticker Fundamentals sheet. And last, but definitely not least, the quote is from the Label Stickers.

I think the quote "a girl should be two things: classy and FABULOUS.  coco chanel" is absolutely awesome!  The perfect pick-me-up.

Enjoy!

Supplies Used:

Summer is Coming!! Check out Fancy Pants NEW "Down By The Shore"

Hello and good morning...

It's Wendi here sharing with you a summery layout. I was super excited to get to play with one of Fancy Pant's latest lines... Down By The Shore.  This line totally screams my name. I'm a summer chick, a beach lover, and water kind of gal. The fun patterns in this line are super playful.

For my layout, I used Brad Pad, which is a 6x6 mini album that you could almost use by itself to add pictures and journaling. I decided to tear out some of the pages and used them as papers on my page.
I also used the sticker fundamentals for my alphas on the title work.
I used a couple of the tape strips and the label stickers through out my page.
And how fun is this lil guy??? I fussy cut him out of one of the pages.
This line is perfect for all those summer photos you'll be taking soon enough.

Have a great day...

Other supplies used: Mister Huey mists, machine sewing, pop dots, and Sharpie pen.

Fancy Pants **HOT**NEW**Trendsetter Collection

Ange here today with Fancy Pants adorable Trendsetter line.
I was recently able to attend the Original Scrapbook USA Expo in Sandy, UT. I had SO much fun while I was there! I can't wait to go back next spring. While I was there Kristin had stacks of product available for us to bring home to work with. There was so many awesome products! It made it hard to choose which pile to bring home with me. lol, But when I saw Fancy Pants Trendsetter line I was sold. I LOVE this line and have been wanting to get my hands on it ever since they first started showing sneaks of it. So here is what I made with it:

Of course I had to find the perfect photo to go along with such a fun line & this 'Ladies This Way' die-cut was a big help in directing the course of this layout. This is my youngest being his charming little self last summer, while practicing his wink. We went out to see the solar eclipse and it created the most awesome soft light, so of course I brought out the camera. Other than enlarging this to a 5x7 I didn't do any editing to this photo.

But I did a lot to this tag pp! I loved the look of it and thought it would be so cool to use strips of tags on my lo. So the first strip I cut off the bottom of the paper. That strip was only part of the tags so I used it along the bottom of my lo, right above a Tape Sticker strip.

The second strip I used along the edge of my photo. For both strips I cut the triangles out between each tag and then bent them along their edges to ink them, giving them individual dimension, w/o having to cut them all apart. With these ones I punched out the holes and added red twine and string from the tags of a recent clothing purchase.

For the title area I layered different pp's and the postcard die-cut, then used the alphas from the sticker sheet to create my cute title. Anyone else hear Joey Tribbiani's voice when they read that? lol
I used a pop dot for the Rock Star sticker added the star strip below and then added the 2 as an afterthought. I often overlook using larger #'s because I tend to add dates small and under my journaling, so I thought this would be a fun way to add in the cute starred 2.

The final touches were mostly from the button set. I used the star and the banners, along with some twine and then made my own flag with a toothpick from my cupboard and some more of the fun stickers.

This is a super cute line! I hope you enjoyed what I did with it.
Thanks! Ange

A Note of Love Using Fancy Pants

Hello there!  Andrea here and I'm very giddy about the "Love Note" collection from Fancy Pants Designs.  I'm a long-time fan of Fancy Pants and always look forward to what they come up with.

Here's a piece of framed Valentine's art that I created using some of their fabulous paper and stickers:

For the background, I used a piece of the Love Note white paper with pink text and I shot a spritz of "pretty pink" color mist on it (Mister Huey's brand).

I used a Chevron stripe sticker and layered two pieces of fabric on top of it.  This collection also comes with some gorgeous corrugated pink paper, which I punched a heart out of.

To embellish, I added a mini pink binder clip and attached a "true love" sentiment sticker, which is also from this Fancy Pants Designs line.

The Love Note collection has a great mix of whimsical patterns and you can either go bold or soft with your color pallet choices.  The colors range from black and white and bright magenta's to soft pinks and grays.  All in all, a great line that's just in time for Valentine's Day!

And hey- you know what February means, right?  It means we are only ONE month away from the Scrapbook USA Expo!!!  Yipppeeee!  Don't forget to mark your calendars, pack your bags, or do whatever else needs to be done to be ready for March 22nd and 23rd in Utah!  It will be epic, as always!

YOUR Valentine's Traditions plus Fancy Pants Giveaway

A couple of days ago when we started our Fancy Pants "A Note of Love" collection giveaway, we asked you to share your Valentine's traditions on our blog. SO many of you did!  There were some really great ideas and I enjoyed reading them so much that I decided to compile them here so everyone else can enjoy them.

But first, if you haven't entered to win Fancy Pants brand new Valentine's collection - "A Note of Love", do it now! The giveaway ends tonight and this is a fantastic collection!!

Valentine's comes at the perfect time. The cold and snow are getting old, New Years resolutions are hopefully becoming habits and a celebration is in order (this is all my opinion of course). I don't have really 1 tradition that has stuck over the years except that I do something for my family every year. I like to keep them on their toes. Probably the most surprising and creative thing I ever did was burn a cd of "Valentine" by Martina McBride that I put into my husband's car cd player so when he started his car that song came on. Just a little gesture that really surprised him.

So, I have yet to decide what I will be doing this year but it will be unique because half of us will be on the road traveling to a soccer tournament and the other half will be home alone. Will have to come up with something that lets everyone know they are special! Thanks to all your ideas, I have a few things I am stirring around in my mind...

If you have more ideas, please add them into the comments below so we can really get this list LOOOONG and full of inspiration!

Your Valentine's Traditions:

We usually will have a little party with other kids my daughter's age and decorate heart-shaped sugar cookies and other fun activities! LOVE this line!
We usually go out some place very nice.
My little girl and I bake cookies and cupcakes and we all make and exchange cards.
We actually don't have a valentine's tradition....just try and do a little something special that day. Last year we had chocolate dipped strawberries for dessert. The girls loved them!
We always decorate for Valentine's Day, and share some chocolatey treats!!
I usually make the kids a valentine bag with candy and hide it around the house (too cold and snowy to this outside in my neck of the woods) and then leave four or five clues leading to the next clue and then ultimately leading them to the bag of goodies.
I love making valentine cards with my grandchildren, they enjoy playing in my craftroom.
My Valentine's tradition...hmmmm, yes, it's telling my husband over and over not to get me chocolate, because I'm on a diet and I'll just eat the whole box in a day while secretly hoping he'll get a small box anyway, because then I'll have to eat it or it would just be a waste of money, right? LOL!
Love to make cards for my family!
Our Valentine tradition has always been a romantic dinner at home & some us time. However, last year my husband gave me a scrapbook (thought it was odd considering I buy them whenever I want), but this one was special. Inside it was a 2 page layout my husband made for me using photos of us on our 1st date. Secretly hoping he'll add a few more pages to the book this year.
My husband and myself are doing the "Kiss Me Countdown", but we are giving each other a little something each day, till Valentine's Day! Fun to be had!
Make and send valentine cards to my nieces & nephews each year and I go to the movies every Valentines day.
We don't do V-day as a couple, our anniversary is too close, so we make it about the kids. my oldest helps to make a '
fancy' dinner and we set the table with candles and our best dishes. My kids love the attention.
No Valentine tradition except to enjoy some yummy chocolate truffles!
I LOVE Valentine's Day! My kids favorite tradition is the night before Valentines Day I decorate the table with all sorts of Valentines things and I always leave them a small gift on their plate. The next morning they get to have their gift and we have an all pink breakfast!
We love to decorate our windows.
I make my husband a special breakfast before he heads off to work.
I am going to start a new tradition this year! I found the idea on Pinterest...You leave a heart on your family members' doors every day starting on the First of February up through VDay, and you write the things you love most about them on each heart.
I eat chocolate until I pop!
I make love baskets for my family with a shirt, a valentine and a homemade treat bag.
Our Valentine's Day tradition is to cook a nice "
fancy" dinner. We all dress up and practice our manners. Dad always brings home a rose for all 3 of his little girls :)
I love putting together Valentine's treats (usually food like cupcakes or cookies) for my friends
When my kids were little we would make Valentines together to give at school...
My tradition is to make Valentines for my nieces and nephew and a couple little cousins. I do baskets for my girlfriends.
As my other half usually has to work on valentines day, and our babysitter is usually busy we curl up on the sofa after the kiddies have gone to bed eating takeaway & watching a movie. As long as we're together we're happy.
Usually the hubby and I go out and celebrate and make chocolate covered strawberries, but he's deployed this year!
I make chocolate dipped marshmallows with my daughter.

"A Note of Love" by Fancy Pants + Giveaway!

There is nothing more fun than hunkering down in my craft room with just me and a super cute paper collection. I really outta do it more often! Well, recently I found some time and I spent an evening with Fancy Pants new Valentines collection "A Note of Love" and I gotta say, I love the results!

The projects were specifically done for my 1st segment on "My Craft Channel" (airing February 11th!!!). I really wanted to focus on Decor that you can start and finish in a reasonable amount of time without using much more than the paper collection and items you already have at home.

The Fancy Pants collection practically did the work for me thanks to all the fun designs. I really loved the variety of paper, stickers and punch-outs that were included. In addition to the double sided cardstock it also included a sheet of pink corrugated cardsotck and a sheet of red glitter paper which were really fun additions.

Here is what I put together:

This cookie cutter wall hanging is so much fun! There is just SO much you could do with some cookie cutters and cute paper! I used some embellishment glue to adhere the paper to the cookie cutters. Make sure you use the thick side of the cutter as the back. It is a bit thicker and gives you a little more for the paper to adhere to. I ran ribbon down the back and used a hot glue gun for that. The back doesn't look too great so I tacked mine to my door so it doesn't move around. You could do a backing piece so that the back side looked nice as well. I used a metal ring from an office supply store for the top with some tulle wrapped around the edges. Hurry and get your cookie cutters. I bought a set of 5 at Walmart and 2 more individually at Hobby Lobby. They were already picked over a bit.

I have a bunch of "staple" items that I keep on my shelves and then I change them out for different holidays. I use these candy/candle dishes quite a bit and just switch out the vinyl and embellishments. My kids love them too, since candy appears in them every so often.

This "kissing booth" page was the first thing that drew me into the "Love Notes" collection. It is SO cute! Actually it is part of a 12X12 sheet of paper. The paper would be super cute in a layout but I cut it out instead and made this banner. My 8 year old smiles every time she sees it! The 2 small banner's were punch outs in the collection and I used a sticker strip to cover the clothes pins.

This 12X12 frame from Ikea is another one of my family room staples. I change it out for each holiday. If I don't have holiday decor on display I like to use a recent layout from a vaction or family photo. The best part of this is that the grey vinyl is on the outside of the glass so the paper is still good as new and I can use it in my album after the holiday.

If you are interested in "A Note Of Love" for yourself - Fancy Pants is generously supplying one of our lucky fans with the complete collection. Enter below AND Good Luck!!

Also, mark your calendars- my first segment on "My Craft Channel" will be February 11th. I will be highlighting these projects!!
