MME Now & Then Mildred

It's so close now I can almost smell the new paper!
I am so excited for expo! I want to pack already. lol But since it's a bit early for that I played with some new paper instead.

Check out this pretty paper from My Mind's Eye! It's Now & Then Mildred, Girls. I wanted to try my hand at one of those cut backgrounds, so I did this on my silhouette. I also cut the wording that way. I just did the design myself. Here are some closeups:

I wanted the the feel of this layout to be sweet and soft, which is the feel I get from the photo. So I loved the light pinks and soft blue in the paper underneath and I went with stitching and soft embellies. I didn't want a lot of journaling, so I just put the important details on a heart and outlined it with a glittery pink gel pen.

I had this fun rhinestone butterfly in my stash and thought it would be a great addition. Then added the twine for a flight path. I always love to see a flight path for butterflies, just makes me smile. I double matted my photo, well maybe triple if you count the white edge it came with, in pink and then just a small edge of black to really drawn the eye.

In this last closeup you can see the stitching I did. I also outlined each heart with the glittery pink pen. The enamels, buttons and little lady sticker are all from MME also.
Make sure you swing by their booth at the Expo and get some of these yummy products for yourself!
See you there! :)Ange

Chickaniddy Crafts - NEW Vendor at Scrapbook USA Expo

Hello and good morning...

Today I am sharing some pages that I have recently made with product from a newer company, Chickaniddy Crafts, who is also one of the many NEW vendors who will be able to shop with at The Original Scrapbook USA Expo. If you haven't checked out their two new collections, you really should. They are both fun and totally easy to work with. I actually had the privilege to work in the booth at CHA and had a blast.

The two collections are Twirly Girly, which is a mainly girlie collection that focuses on the life of a girl from birth to 99.. It's mainly pinks, grays, yellows and have a soft, clean look to it:

I use this line for a  sweet little layout of my little one, who is glued to her baby doll right now, and takes her everywhere.

I came up with this page, the photo was taken on a recent Hawaii trip. I fussy cut some of the flowers to make a embellie cluster on the side of the photo and some light misting on the page:

Their second collection is called Date Night, and worked from date nights, to engagement, wedding scrapping and fun married pictures. This line has fun hues of blue, gray, and pops of peach. Really this line can do anything from winter pages, to boy pages, to everyday pages.

I created a more messy page with this line, with yes, some more Hawaii pics.. LOL.. I took a ton and am having a blast scrapping them. One of my favorite embellishments from Chickaniddy are the enamel hearts, which I used on the page:

Chickaniddy Crafts also sells their lines in collections packs which come with sticker elements and an alphas sheet. There are also two sheets that have 3x4 tags which came be perfect for project life. There are also some really great embellishments-  word sentiment stickers, brads, banner stickers and sticker tags. They also have really cool GOLD and SILVER specialty papers that can be run through any die cut machine to cut, make your own title, border punch or emboss... totally cool right??

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great day!!!

Look What's NEW at Basic Grey!

Hello! Ange here today. Are you getting excited for the expo? I sure am! I can't wait to go play, hang with some good friends and shop some great deals!!
Have you seen the new Highline from Basic Grey? I fell in LOVE when I saw it. Such a pretty line! I'm not a big fan of pink, but all the orange and color change in this line is so awesome! (It makes the pink ok lol)
As I was thumbing through my pictures, I saw these pics of my daughter at a dance competition and thought dark backgrounds with light pink outfits, perfect!

I know these photos aren't the best. The lighting on the stage was really bad, harsh in some spots and way too dark in others, but I managed to get some photos that were not blurry and I love how you can see my daughter's pretty form. (She's front and center) Of course I had to use the photos and I found a sketch that had super tiny photos on it over at My Scraps & More, so I went for it.

The main draw for me was the design across the bottom. I loved the arrows leading the eye across the page and photos, so I used the fun Love This arrow sticker and then cut some chevrons out of some cute pink pattern paper to draw the eye. That hexagon sticker was just too perfect and it is a great way to focus the eye on my title. For the title I layered the black and pink alphas. Did you see all the alphas you get with this line?! Awesome!!

The banner here was hanging at the festival and I took a picture of it to use on my page. I used one of the border stickers across the top, but since it is a true 12x12 I had to cut it to make it longer and fit end to end at this angle. I just hid the cut behind this fun pink heart. I tried to stick with the light pink embellishments because it looks so awesome against the darker background of the page.

I really love this line from Basic Grey and can't wait to dive in again!!
Thanks, Ange

Basic Grey Layouts

Hi all! I'm back with a couple more Christmas layouts- this time using some beautiful Basic Grey product. I was sent a paper pack of their 25th and Pine collection. This collection includes a TON of pretty papers as well as an embellishment sticker sheet and an alpha sticker sheet. The thing I love the most about Basic Grey product is the fun and unique patterns and the how well they coordinate together. I always find it inspiring to find different ways to incorporate as many of them as I can into my projects. This collection is no exception. Here is the first layout:
This is the Christmas photo we're using this year. Our baby is due January 12th, but he could be here any day really! I have asked him not to come on or before Christmas, but anytime after that is all good! Hence, the "Do Not Open Before Christmas" tag. Because this photo had some darker colors, I liked that the paper patterns had some darker colors in it as well.
The "special delivery" tag couldn't be more perfect, right? It even says "Do Not Open Before Dec. 25"! I love it. Both this and the gold tree tag were cut out from a page with lots of different tags and journaling blocks.
The upper sticker said 'Christmas Greetings'. I only wanted the 'Christmas' part so I covered with another sticker and layered the second part of my title over the rest. The 'bliss' font is the sticker alphabet that came with the pack.
There were several cute, coordinating border stickers as well as some fun shape and journaling stickers. Because the background pattern is so bold, I decided to keep the rest of the layout more simple so there wasn't too much distraction on the page.

Here is my second layout:

The color palette is a little subdued and almost vintage-y looking. I cut out some snowflake-like shapes from my Cricut and used the insides as well, showing the reverse paper patterns. Always looking for ways to incorporate more paper onto my layout!
I used some border strips here- I love incorporating these in my layouts and Basic Grey's are very unique! This ticket was cut from a page of cute tags, tickets, journaling tags and other cute images.
This cluster includes another tag cut from a page, as well as some of the cute stickers.
I found some coordinating thickers and used them for my title.
Again I had enough paper and embellishments left over to at least do another layout or two as well as several cards! Lots of fun, cuteness to work with! Thanks for looking!

Echo Park - Reflections Christmas Collection

Hello and good morning.

I don't know about you, but it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas every where I go. I always love seeing Christmas lights up on the house, and it makes me smile. One of my fave companies is Echo Park and they always put out the best Christmas lines each year. I got to work with their Reflections Christmas collection for a couple of layouts. It's their more traditional line release.

These photos are a couple of years old of the kids opening some presents on Christmas morning:

Their coordinating sticker embellishments are always the perfect accents for your projects:

For my second page, I used some photos that were from the photo session of pictures that went on our family Christmas cards, which were also baby announcements for our new little one.

I added a few MME enamel dots on the banner, and just love the 3x4 cards that are included in the collection, they make perfect title cards:

So in case you haven't, check out Echo Park and their latest collections. Did you know they release a new collection every month??? Along with some mini collections and Photo Freedom lines which are perfect for your Project Life pages.

Thanks for stopping by today

Other supplies used: MME enamel dots, Mister Huey mist, Kaiser Craft bling, Sharpie pen, machine stitching.

Tis the Season

Hi friends! It's that time of year again! Time to start making Christmas crafts and projects! I love how I am always so much more motivated to do projects during this time of year- gives me a chance to catch up! So I was privileged to receive some wonderful product from Echo Park. I was sent the Tis the Season paper pack. This pack has some very nice traditional elements as well as some fun, modern trends (like chalkboard!). I have included 2 full layouts that I created with the pack, but easily could finish a couple more as well as some cards! There is a LOT to work with including 2 sticker sheets and some journaling tag/card pages. There is one page that has numbers 1-25 in different fonts which would make an adorable advent calendar project. Here is my first layout:
With this layout you can see a little bit of that fun chalkboard element that is so trendy right now. The rest of the colors and patterns really complement each other very nicely.
I created a little cluster with fun stickers in the upper right of the page, and added some border stickers in the corner.
I thought this chalkboard style card was so cute I decided to use it as my title. I love when products can do double duty- really makes my layouts come together quickly.
Here is the second layout:
I cut the music style piece on my Cricut. I love that it was done in the chalkboard style as well.
I created the title using one of the cute journaling cards, and the letter stickers from the pack.
The little banner was also fussy cut from one of the pages and popped up on foam dots for dimension.

I hope you enjoyed my projects, and be sure to pick up Tis the Season for your holiday projects- so much versatility and inspiration in this pack!

Photo Freedom by Echo Park

Hello my wonderful friends!

Raise your hand if you are behind in your scrapbooking.

Yeah... me too.

(you can all put your hands down now.)

Echo Park has a fun and super easy way getting a hold on those photos. It's called Photo Freedom, and you can check it out HERE. Their focus is really about keeping it simple and getting the photos and stories recorded. However, that doesn't mean it has to be style has to be sacrificed! Their papers and embellishments are adorable!

I was sent one of their "Oh So Thankful" kits to work with...

My page came together so quickly! I was amazed!

Tucked behind the photo is a hidden journalling tag. The kit comes with some super cute double sided journalling cards, all I had to do was add a tab on the edge so it is easy to pull out.

I made a few border strips as well as a the quote tag with some stamps from my stash. I love being able to mix in stuff I already have with current kits on the market!

Here's a quick tip for you...

When using stickers to make titles, I like to use a section of the sticker backing paper to figure out the spacing. By putting a ruler underneath, you can get your letters straight and evenly spaced (you can often see through the backing papers enough to see the ruler lines). Be sure to leave the stickers hanging off the edge of the paper for easy transfer...

To move them to your project, simply place them where you want them, firmly rub the stickers on your project where they are hanging off the backing, slide the backing sheet out and rub on the other half. Easy titles! LOVE!

Enjoy!

Supplies Used:
Paper: Echo Park "Oh So Thankful" photo freedom kit
Ink: Memento, Archival, Distress
Stamps: Unity "Tribal Trend", "Jumprope", "Strength and Dignity"
Dies: Spellbinders "Labels 18"
Other: tissue paper, glitter, pearls

I H.E.A.R.T. Mat Stacks

Hello and good morning..

It's Wendi here sharing a page with you using a DCWV Mat Stack. I LOVE Mat Stacks just for the fact that you get such a great variety of papers that all coordinate in one place, so you can just start a layout and go!!!! I LOVE that!!! It makes my scrapping life sooo much easier.

Here is a layout of my little one. She LOVES to line up all her toys in whatever rooms she wants to play in. It happens to be that she brought them all into the kitchen at this time, so I took a photo. Some of these cute things little ones do, only last for so long, and then they out grow them.

I used the Dots Mat Stack, which is a 4.5 x 6.5 paper stack, so I actually cut out several circles and added them to my page for a playful look.

I also added 3 colors of misting in the background and some bolder red papers and cut them into pennants under the photo:

I also added a fun envelope to the page to mix it up a bit:

So there you go!!! An easy page to make with smaller sized papers. Make sure to check out the DCWV site for their cool products.

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great day!!!!

Fall Colors

Hello and good morning...

It's Wendi here and sharing a layout with a totally perfect fall line of paper. The collection is the DCWV Modern Meadow collection and it's gorgeous. Some of the papers have a bit of sparkle on them, along with some yellow, brown and orange hues, perfect for autumn and fall scrapbooking and card making.

Here is my layout, even though it's not a fall photo, here in California we don't get a whole lot of fall colors in our leaves, something that I really miss from living in Utah....
I fussy cut out the title work from one of the tag cards. Don't ya love the cute owl?
And added another quote card for the page:
I added some machine sewing around the border to pull the page together and some enamel dots splatted through out the page:
Thanks so much for stopping by... Have a great day...

Other Materials: MME enamel dots, Chic Tags journal spot, Machine sewing, Sharpie pen
Used: November DCWV sketch

Halloween Layout

Hello and good morning

Its Wendi here and I'm sharing a layout with you about one of my favorite holidays.... Halloween!!! I love dressing up, having spooky decor around the house, and all the fun fall activities that go along with it. This photo is from this year's Halloween of my kids dressed up in their costumes. I used the DCWV "Spooky Time" 6x6 papers for my page. And just because you have a 6x6 pad, doesn't mean you can't use the papers for a 12x12 page.

I cut over several of the fun wording squares and added them as embellishments on my page:
I just LOVED this fun scene on the one paper, that I decided to use it all on the layout:
And then added some of the yellow "Natural Fibers" papers for some texture:
Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great day.

Other materials: MME enamel dots, Mister Huey mist, Sharpie pen, Machine Sewing.

Summer Memories

Hello and good morning...

It's Wendi here and even though it is fall, I am finishing up a few final summer layouts that I created with the Imaginisce Childhood Memories collection. This line is really super playful and has some fun colors to produce bright, happy pages. Each time I use this line, it puts a smile on my face.

I scrapped a photo of my daughter from swim lessons this past summer. She really worked hard and came a long way in her swimming abilities and I was proud of her.

I just adore the fun polariods and pictures from the Snapshots paper, it's such a fun additive.

I layered several paper strips and then added some paper pleating and machine stitching over it:

I added blue misting to the page, since it's a water/pool page, and then topped it off with some pennants on the side with stitching:

Make sure to stop by the Imaginisce site and see what fun collections they have!!!!
Have a great day.
